# Responsible web access

> How SOAX supports business web access through customer checks, network consent, access restrictions, and abuse response.

SOAX is web access infrastructure for business applications. We help developers control how their applications connect to the web. We do not offer anonymous use of the platform: every customer must provide accurate information about themselves and any business they represent.

Residential and mobile proxies rely on other people's internet connections. We require [informed consent from the people whose devices participate](/trust/network-sourcing.md). We also [screen customer details](/trust/customer-screening.md) and [restrict certain destinations and ports](/trust/access-restrictions.md) to reduce misuse and protect the people and services involved. When concerns arise, we [review them and take action where needed](/trust/acceptable-use.md).

You decide what your application does, which requests it sends, and how it uses the results. With SOAX proxies, you can configure routing, sessions, rotation, and error handling within your package's access limits. The destination service still controls how it responds.

## Before you start

Check the [access restrictions](/trust/access-restrictions.md) for the destinations, ports, and protocols your application needs. Access beyond those defaults [requires a separate review](/trust/additional-access.md).

See [Quick Connect](/dashboard/quick-connect.md) and [Package Management](/dashboard/package-management.md) for supported settings, and our [SLA](https://soax.com/legal/sla) for service availability.
